I love the smell of religion in the morning. After reading some of David Hume’s God and Evil while killing time this morning, I found myself intrugued with his arguments against the existance of God. It’s the same reasoning you’ve heard for years, but phrased philosophically. While we suffer, how can God be both all-good and all-powerful at the same time? The only possibility that allows for God’s existance is that His idea of good is not the same as ours. I follow this possibility through to the bitter end, and don’t particularly like what I find.
